How to Pay a Bitcoin Invoice
In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of paying a Bitcoin invoice using Blockonomics.
Step 1: Select the 'Pay with Bitcoin' Option
After receiving your Bitcoin invoice, start by clicking on the 'Pay with Bitcoin' button. This will direct you to the payment page, which is powered by Blockonomics.
Step 2: Scan the QR Code or Copy the Bitcoin Address
On the payment page, you'll find a QR code which you can scan using a mobile Bitcoin wallet app. Alternatively, you can manually copy the Bitcoin address listed next to the QR code.
Step 3: Send the Payment
Send the exact amount of Bitcoin to the provided address. Make sure to consider transaction fees when sending your payment, as sending less than the invoice amount will result in a failed transaction.
Step 4: Wait for Confirmation
Once you've sent your payment, wait for it to be confirmed on the Bitcoin network. This process usually takes around 10 minutes but can be longer during periods of high network congestion. You'll be able to see the confirmation progress on the Blockonomics payment page.
Step 5: Payment Complete
Once the transaction is confirmed, the payment page will display a 'Payment Successful' message. You should also receive a confirmation email.
Note: If your transaction remains unconfirmed after 72 hours, it's likely that it has been dropped from the Bitcoin network due to low fees. If this happens, you will need to resubmit your payment.
If your invoice shows as "Cancelled" after a while, it may be because the amount of Bitcoin received was less than the value of the service. This sometimes happens with long waiting transaction confirmations due to low fees.
