How Will I Be Charged If I Upgrade or Downgrade?

At UnderHost.com, we ensure a fair and transparent billing process when you upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan or services. Below are the details on how charges are calculated for these changes.

Upgrading Your Hosting Plan

When upgrading your plan, you will only be charged for the price difference between your current plan and the upgraded plan, prorated based on the remaining time in your current billing cycle.

Example:

  • You are currently on a plan that costs $10 per month and want to upgrade to a plan that costs $20 per month.
  • If 15 days remain in your current billing cycle, you will be charged the prorated difference for those remaining days.
  • Once your current billing cycle ends, you’ll be billed the full amount of the new plan ($20/month).

Downgrading Your Hosting Plan

If you choose to downgrade your plan, the difference in cost will be applied as a credit to your account, also prorated based on the remaining time in your current billing cycle. This credit can be used toward future invoices.

Example:

  • You are currently on a plan that costs $20 per month and want to downgrade to a plan that costs $10 per month.
  • If 15 days remain in your current billing cycle, the prorated difference will be credited to your account.
  • The credit can then be used for your next renewal or any other services you purchase.

Key Notes on Billing for Plan Changes

  • Immediate Effect: Changes to your hosting plan take effect immediately upon payment (for upgrades) or confirmation (for downgrades).
  • Prorated Charges: All adjustments are calculated based on the time remaining in your billing cycle.
  • Refunds for Downgrades: Downgrade credits are applied to your account but are not refunded directly to your payment method.

How to Upgrade or Downgrade

  1. Log in to Your CustomerPanel: Visit https://customerpanel.ca/client and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to Services: Click on the Services section to view your active hosting plans.
  3. Select Upgrade/Downgrade: Choose the plan you want to modify and click on the Upgrade/Downgrade button.
  4. Follow the Prompts: Select your new plan, review the charges or credits, and confirm your change.
